FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is a Glamping?
In short, glamour camping. You're seeking a little refuge in nature without foregoing any of life luxuries. In other words you're camping in style.

Booking and Reservation?

The Hooton Retreat accommodation booking only open up to 2 months in advance. Enquiries and booking can be done via website. We will constantly be improving on our booking system for our guests as well.

​

Am I allowed to bring outside food?

Outside food & raw food material are NOT ALLOWED. Cooking in the rooms and cooking appliances are prohibited in the Retreat. Only light snacks and drinks are permitted.

​

What about the meals?

  • All room rates charges stated inclusive breakfast. Full board includes Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

  • Meals are served at the following times:
    Breakfast : 7.30 am - 10.00 am
    Lunch : 12.30 pm - 2.00 pm
    Dinner : start 7.30 pm (Kitchen closes 9pm)

    If you require earlier breakfast, do let the crew know. Cooked breakfast is only served after 8am. Should you forget to inform us of your allergies or dietary requirements during your booking, please inform us as soon as possible during the check in process.

 

Is the food served in the retreat halal?

We do not have Halal certificates. However, our food is all pork free.

 

Are we children friendly?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your children. We encourage children to visit and experience the outdoors with us. However, children under the age of 12 must be accompanied and supervised by the parent or guardian at all times throughout their stay.

 

Check-in and check-out time?

Main entrance gate will only be opened at 3pm for check-in. Check-out time is at 12pm.

Unless otherwise stated in the specific rate plan terms & conditions.

 

The Hooton Retreat reserves the right to check NRIC during check-in. Both children and adults are required to present their NRIC upon check-in. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Shall any guests failed to do so, The Hooton Retreat's management reserves the right to expel or refuse their entry.

What are essential things to bring for glamping?

  • Mosquito repellent

  • Sun block

  • Toothbrush, toothpaste and personal toiletries

  • Hair Dryer

  • Proper trekking shoes (for Jungle Trekking)

  • Jacket, Cap, Raincoat, Swimwear

  • Torch/headlamp​

Optional:

  • Camping accessories (Foldable Camping Chairs & Table, Tarp, Lamp and etc.)
    Remark: Flammable, explosive or otherwise hazardous materials are not permitted.

Can guests come and not stay the night?

Only guests with prior booking may enter the retreat. We value the privacy of our guests. Hence, walk-in visitors or guests without a booking are prohibited and will not be entertained.

Can i organize a company trip or company event at the Retreat?

Yes, we do cater for small events. Please specify your event and number of pax in the reservation box and we would be happy to assist you.

Are pets allowed?

No pets are allowed in the Retreat as we respect and value the comfort and privacy of all guests.

​

Do we have dogs?

Yes, we have a few friendly dogs to guard the orchard and retreat area. We advised the guest not to do anything that could provoke and detrimental to these furries. 

​

Is the Retreat wheelchair friendly?

We are located on a hilly terrain, with steps and slopes present, which might not be suitable for people with disabilities.

​

Can i drive to the Retreat?

Yes, you can. But due to sections of unpaved road leading up to our location, lowered vehicle/ Sports car is not recommended.

​

Is there any parking area?

Yes. Parking area is provided with limited space inside the Retreat. Staying guests are advised to park at their own risk. The Hooton Retreat management will not be responsible for damage or theft or vehicles or vehicle contents. 

​

Is the Retreat a smoke-free premise?

Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the accommodation, washrooms, and any SHARED communal area. Smoking is only permitted in designated area of the premise.

​

How secure is our Retreat?

Our premises is gated and guarded by our guard dogs. Our retreat is strictly for in-house guests only.

How do I contact you if i need help?

We are available 5 days a week from Monday to Friday, 9 am - 6 pm. Our phone number is 019 2080 633. However, we prefer if you WhatsApp or Facebook us as we are always on the go.

Do we provide barbecue?

Yes. We provide charcoals and the barbecue pit for guests upon advanced booking request.
